Is ASSORT able to determine coefficients for nomogram adjustment of laser units?
Ans. This is done by clicking onto the ‘Reports’ module and creating a report based on the laser patients whom you have already treated to see if they have been overcorrected or undercorrected post-operatively for spherical and astigmatic treatment. The relevent reports are the Coefficient of Adjustment for astigmatism and, for the Sphere, the inverse of the Spherical Correction Index.
Ans. This can be determined by looking at the individual Correction Index of the patient in the ‘Data Entry’ module and selecting ‘Graph’ from the top menu. The Correction Index can be assessed via Refraction, Keratometry or Topography. The CI is preferably 1.0. It is greater than 1.0 if an overcorrection occurs and less than 1.0 if there is an undercorrection.
How do I know where to place the incision for an optimum outcome when planning cataract surgery?
Ans. The cataract planning screen allows movement of the incision marker and subsequent observation of the target keratometry and refraction to optimise outcome.
Am I able to track humidity in laser room over time?
Ans. Entering multiple temperatures in the ‘Surgical Notes’ and tracking the appropriate ranges when processing reports can do this.
Can I determine which patients the outliers refer to in graphical presentations?
Ans. Scatter plot and surgical vector representations will display the details of the outliers when ‘clicking’ on the appropriate plot.
Ans. ASSORT will allow merging of data from version 2 (DOS) onwards by using the ‘Miscellaneous’ option in the ‘Utilities’ module.
Ans. This can be done by contacting ‘ASSORT’ support and acquiring a new ‘Access Code’.
Ans. The third party component used to create the reports requires that Windows has a default printer, from which it can get information about paper size, resolution etc so as to know how best to lay out the report.
Go to Start/Settings/Printers where you will find you have only a single icon "Add Printer". Click on this to add a (logical) printer then restart VECTrAK. You can choose HP, Canon, Epson or any other widely used printer. It is not necessary that you ever connect such a printer to your machine, only that Windows is set up to use it if you were to do so. Please do not choose the "Generic/Text" printer option as this will result in a very crude report. When I load VECTrAK it wants to re-boot. Why?
Ans. This only occurs on older versions of Windows. The installation of VECTrAK requires the existence of "Windows Installer" on your machine. If you do not already have it then the VECTrAK Installer will first upgrade your Windows to add the current "Windows Installer" capability before continuing with the VECTrAK installation. This requires a reboot of the system. The VECTrAK installation will continue where it left off after the reboot.
2003/01/15 - When I enter a visit date I get rejected.
Ans. A legacy limit on date range was set to 2002/12/31. Download "ParadoxUpdate.exe" into your assort41 directory and run it from there. ParadoxUpdate.exe will update your "EXAMS.DB" Paradox table to remove the limit.
WARNING: if you run a networked system.
Paradox requires an open path to a shared "lock file". In a networked system this file is usually placed on a common server accessable to all users. This is often the same server used for ASSORT and the exams.db file. Since the server will not usually have a common drive pointing at itself, Paradox may be unable to find the lock file and hence be unable to open a database table on itself.
If you get a message:
and you are sure that no-one else is running Paradox then you can email copies of your three exams.* files to support@assort.com and we will convert them and return them to you.
Alternatively you can copy the files from the shared drive to a temporary working directory on one of the machines from which you normally run ASSORT and from which Paradox can "see" the shared lock file. Then run ParadoxUpdate.exe from within this directory and copy the files back to the server.
