ASSORT is a comprehensive surgical outcome and management program specifically designed for ophthalmologists.

Development of the program was started in 1991 by Dr Noel Alpins, a Melbourne-based Ophthalmic surgeon, who recognised the need to establish a database in order to cope with the vast amount of information that accumulates when performing eye surgery and its follow-up. In this way a comprehensive examination of results was rendered flexible and easy to achieve. Licensed versions of ASSORT have been supported since 1992 and it is the longest-standing ophthalmic outcomes analysis program commercially available.

The ASSORT program was the winner of the 1993 Borland most innovative application software.
